This gorgeous backdrop not only provides a beautiful setting but also helps diffuse the light when the sun is higher in the sky, making it ideal for capturing those perfect, natural moments.

A Fun-Loving Family

The family I photographed included two energetic boys, Jaxon and Leo, aged 5 and 2, who brought so much energy and fun to the session. With their parents’ relaxed and happy attitude, the session was all about capturing authentic, natural moments—exactly what the family had hoped for.

The Magic of Golden Hour

We scheduled the shoot for a Friday in August, aiming for golden hour—the magical time just before sunset when the light is soft, warm, and incredibly flattering.The light was perfect, with the setting sun casting warm pink and orange tones that made for an ideal backdrop for family portraits.

Overcoming Unexpected Challenges

Every photoshoot has its surprises, and this one was no different. The day before our session, Jaxon decided to give himself a haircut! It's like they just know isn't it?! But thanks to some quick thinking and styling from his dad, he managed to turn a potential mishap into a funny aspect of the shoot. The resulting photos captured the family’s laid-back attitude and the boys’ playful spirits perfectly.

A Memorable Moment

One of my highlights of this shoot was at the very end, after I’d taken some shots of the family playing in the water. Leo, with all the wisdom of his 2 years, matter-of-factly stated, "Look at the state of us!" It was a priceless moment that perfectly summed up the fun and carefree nature of the session.
